ENTERING THE ELECTRIC ERA
ENTERING THE ELECTRIC ERA
The need for action to limit the climate crisis is urgent. Electrification of the transport sector with renewables will reduce global CO2 emissions considerably. How do we get policymakers, businesses and consumers to speed up the transition to the electric era?
We are excited to welcome participants from all over the world to attend the 4th annual Nordic EV Summit and Expo of Electric Vehicles in Oslo, Norway. This year as a part of Evolve Arena.
The Nordic EV Summit is highly renowned as one of the most important venues for the EV industry in Europe. We gather decision-makers from policy, industry, research and organizations, to connect and discuss how to electrify the transport sector as fast as possible. In 2019, the conference gathered more than 950 delegates from 40 different countries, and we expect nothing less in 2021.
In 2021, the Nordic EV Summit will focus on four main themes:
EV policies have been rapidly changing in EU countries and the EU’s Green Deal is aiming for zero in 2050. Norway’s goal is to only sell zero emission automobiles by 2025 and reduce half the greenhouse gas emissions from transport by 2030.
How can all cars, tractors, trucks, and buses become zero emitters through batteries? Ships, ferries and boats: How fast will seaborne transport become electrified? Small electric planes are here. When can we choose them on national and even international flights?
Norway, a country with 5.3 million people, is a pioneer in electromobility with more than 350,000 fully electric vehicles. However, to achieve the climate goals, we have to collaborate across borders.
As a Research Engineer at the Ford Motor Company, Victoria Schein (now 26) is developing innovative vehicle concepts and designing technology to keep drivers safe on the road. To date, she holds 40+ patent applications relating to many topics, such as driver-assist technologies, autonomous vehicles, additive manufacturing, and mobility.
These days you might associate the name Johnson with U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson. However, on the topic of future cities, his younger brother Leo Johnson is an inspirational speaker and a renowned presenter on BBC’s radio program «Future Proofing».
